| RT Volunteers needed for Camp Aldersgate!! Recruiting is underway for summer camp! Respiratory therapists are needed to assist ventilator dependent* children for Muscular Dystrophy camp June 13-18. Camp is a great experience for these children. It allows them to spend time with other children just like themselves and temporarily forget about their illness. They participate in fun activities such as swimming, canoeing, fishing, art and crafts and much more. Check out the camp website www.campaldersgate.net Volunteers will need to be available for the entire week. Primary responsibilities include placing campers on their ventilator at night and naptime as well as assisting them with any respiratory needs including cough assist treatments or other airway clearance techniques. It is also possible that therapists may be needed for Spina Bifida camp the week of June 20th but we will not know for sure until all the applications are received. If you are interested in helping with one of these camps or would like more information, please contact me by Monday April 5th. *Limited to non-invasive interfaces. May include CPAP, BiPAP or volume ventilators such as LTV and LP10. |
