Wes Ware Named Specialty Practitioner of the Year, Surface and Air Transport Section of the AARC

The ASRC would like to congratulate Wes Ware on being nationally recognized by the AARC award for the Specialty Practitioner of the year surface and air transport section of the AARC. Wes was nominated for the award by other transport RRT's in the industry. Wes stated, “I have great respect for the quality of care that we as Respiratory Care Practitioners can deliver."
Wes has been an RT with the Arkansas Children's Hospital Angel One Transport team for almost 13 years. A transport Therapist is a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner who maintains their registered status under the National Board for Respiratory Care guidelines. Upon successful completion of the transport orientation, the Transport RT provides comprehensive respiratory care to critically ill or injured neonates, children and specifically referred adults. The transport RT, through the use of patient care in accordance with established guidelines while on transport and in the Intensive Care Unit or Emergency Room. The Transport RT assists the transport RN in the stabilization and care of patients during transport under the direction of designated ACH physician.
Wes was attracted to his job as a transport RRT because he thought it would be cool to fly in helicopters. He also enjoys being able to use his critical thinking skills and being able to function with a large degree of autonomy. Wes greatly enjoys being able to work with the extremely talented and dedicated individuals on his team. Wes stated, “When you come to work as a transport RRT, you never know what you will face during your shift. It is rarely the same thing twice; Transport RRT's face new challenges daily. The job requires that you continually learn new things".
